I graduated from the university, many years ago and kept searching for a job. I had a family to feed, but all my efforts were futile until 2017. My uncle purchased acres of farmland and told me to manage it. I accepted the offer with enthusiasm. Things started improving.
The morning of July 17 came and I prepared for work, just like other days. Upon my arrival at the farm that morning, I kept hearing voices.. Mike.. Leave this place.. Mike go.. Go… I was wondering what was going on, but I told myself that I had to heed the voices. So, i left the farm, and upon highlighting at Abuja junction on Kaduna road, I got a call from one of the farm workers. He said Oga Oga.. Where are you? While I was doing work on the farm, I got kidnapped o.. Just then, I remembered my wife’s plea earlier that morning. She told me she felt I shouldn’t go to work. But she kept pleading the blood of Jesus, when I didn’t heed her plea. I kept telling myself.. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.. I will fear no evil. Upon my arrival at my residence, my wife welcomed me with these words..’I have been pleading the blood of Jesus, since you left the house. I’m glad you are back home’.
I couldn’t tell her about the call i got from my worker. Three days later, i received a call from the chief of the village where the farmland was located asking for my whereabouts. Mike.. You were the person the kidnappers were looking for.. They said, if they got you, they had the right link to your uncle.. Immediately, I called my uncle and informed him about the kidnapping issue and the call from the chief. He just burst forth into thanksgiving and kept repeating.. What would i have done.. What would i have told your father, but glory to Jesus.
After all these, things became difficult. We couldn’t get the extra benefits any more, because of stricter measures which was implemented. At the same time my wife became pregnant. I couldn’t keep up with taking care of her. I had worked and built my faith on the word of God. I kept confessing 1john 4:5-6 which says…
“For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that over cometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that over cometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.”
Only those that believe in the son-ship of Jesus, overcome this world. I kept telling myself that i have overcome the challenges.
Within a year, i saw the greatness of God. It pays to serve the Lord. The issue of N power came. I told my wife to apply. She became hesitant. But i applied, and kept my confessions on Psalm 1.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper”.
Anything i do shall prosper..
To God be the glory. This week, we got a call from Abuja that my wife had gotten a job with the Federal Government. I as well got the N power Funding. Jesus did it. It pays to stick to the word.
